Design
Wrap it around a bag handle, use it as a belt, or wear it around your waist like an accessory. It's incredibly versatile and easy to match! ✨ We wanted to create a scarf that you could carry in your bag every day and use until it becomes perfectly soft, so we made it with durable fabric and careful stitching. And we finally found the absolutely cool pattern we'd been searching for! Artist BAKIBKI created a special pattern for us, incorporating the ch!iii logo into his signature "BAKI pattern." I love this graphic, which combines the strength and playfulness of traditional Japanese elements with street culture.❣️ This scarf is for both those who love silk scarves and those who've wanted to try them but weren't sure how to style them. We aimed to create a piece that's easy to use yet always looks put-together. We hope it becomes a fun addition to your everyday outfits. Material
We use a heavier 19 momme pure silk twill than what is typically used for scarves. Silk is a material that "grows" with use. The initial crispness gradually softens, increasing its drape and suppleness, and the sheen transforms into an elegant, subdued luster. By carrying it with you every day, it will become a soft, unique piece tailored just for you. Print
Each scarf is meticulously hand-dyed one by one at a hand-printing factory in Yamagata. Yamagata has long been known for its thriving sericulture and extensive production of items like scarves. Dyeing large scarves is said to be extremely difficult due to the precise control of pressure required, but our experienced hand-printing artisans achieve a consistent and uniform finish. Furthermore, a unique characteristic of hand-printing is that the dye thoroughly penetrates the fabric, with the color appearing clearly on the reverse side as well. Sewing
The sewing is meticulously finished one by one using a technique called "Chidori-maki" (bird's-foot stitch). This Chidori-maki finish results in a soft, pliable, and smooth texture. When wrapped around the neck or touching the skin, it feels natural and comfortable, without any sense of incongruity. ▶︎BAKIBAKI
An artist based in Osaka, primarily known for his mural art. His signature "BAKI pattern," an updated version of ancient Japanese motifs, is inspired by the repetitive, futuristic, and mechanical forms seen in Japanese manga and anime from around the 90s. Over 20 years, this pattern has become a symbol, highly compatible with traditional patterns and family crests, and continues to be adapted into various mediums. While his roots are in live painting within club culture, which evolved into interior murals, he is currently most focused on large-scale exterior murals and public art. He conducts live painting and workshops across Japan and in 13 countries worldwide. In 2021, he launched "Yodokabe," a mural project in Yodogawa Ward, Osaka, and will create a mural at the Osaka Expo 2025 venue.
